Job Description
Air-tronics is a global leader in high-power fiber lasers, fiber amplifiers, and high-power semiconductor lasers that are transforming performance and utility in various advanced applications, including materials processing, micromachining, telecommunications, and medical technology. Our engineers are responsible for developing laser products and accessories to meet customer needs, from initial concept to mass production. These challenges provide opportunities for our teams to explore and advance our technology.
As an Epitaxial Engineer, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining one or more Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) systems to grow AlInGaAs-based diode laser structures for production and engineering development needs.
Requirements
To qualify for this role, you must have a PhD or MS in Materials Science, Physics, or Electrical Engineering, and at least 1 year of direct epitaxial experience (MOCVD or MBE). You should have extensive experience in the scientific and engineering aspects of compound semiconductor growth, including material and structure characterization. Some experience in growing materials by MBE is preferred. You should also have experience working with semiconductor materials, devices, vacuum, electronics, and computer skills. Familiarity with edge emitting laser diodes is also preferable. We value self-motivation, initiative, accountability, effective communication skills, and the ability to work in a team environment. This job requires flexibility with work hours.
